From Vulnerability to Hope A Family’s Journey in eSwatini
At Rotary Club of Casey, we are proud to support impactful, community driven initiatives that create lasting change.
In partnership with Compelled By Love, who are leading and managing this project on the ground, we have had the privilege of supporting Jeremiah and his family in eSwatini with a new home and a vital water tank. This support represents more than just infrastructure, it provides safety, dignity, and a renewed sense of hope.
A secure home offers stability and the foundation every family deserves. For Jeremiah’s family, this marks the beginning of a new chapter, one where they can grow, thrive, and look ahead with confidence.
Looking ahead, the next phase of the project will focus on establishing a sustainable kitchen garden. This livelihood initiative will empower the family to grow their own food, improve nutrition, and build long term self sufficiency.
Understanding the Need
eSwatini, a small, mountainous country bordered by South Africa and Mozambique, faces significant socio economic challenges. With a population of around 1.1 million, many communities continue to experience limited access to clean water, safe housing, healthcare, education, and employment opportunities.
Ongoing health challenges, including HIV/AIDS and tuberculosis, further impact families, often limiting their ability to work and maintain stable livelihoods.
A Holistic and Sustainable Approach
Through projects led by Compelled By Love, the focus is on long term, sustainable outcomes that support individuals, families, and entire communities. This includes a multi faceted approach centred on family support, community empowerment, and education.
By encouraging local participation and leadership, these initiatives aim to create meaningful change that continues well beyond initial support.
